…a little stripey goodness!

Here’s my half fingered gloves from the LAL at the Clique last week!

half-fingered-stripey-goodness

I was able to finish them yesterday, by finding time to squeeze them in every where I went…

lunch time at work…Les Schwabs (I had to take my PT to get an emergency repair- the parking brake went Kablooey!)… riding in the car (until I got a tad motion sick!)… in between household chores/homework…

Well, you get the picture, lol.   I’m really happy with them.  It’s really a wonderful project! 😀  And fairly simple, too!  LOVE those Knifty Knitter Loom Clips…the possibilities they open up are endless.

I only strayed from the pattern once a couple of times. 😉  I added this fun Bind Off at the cuff.  I thought I’d like a little girlie touch there, and it turned out really cute!

How do you like it?  Would you like a little tutorial?  You can let me know in the comments…I’d love to hear from you!  🙂

This week at the Clique:  We’re having a LAL with our wonderful Robin McCoy!  She’ll be teaching her sweet little project that is featured in the current issue of the Loom Knitter’s Circle:  Leaves a Mark Book Mark!  Please feel free to join us!  🙂

sundays-view

This is where our little Sunday drive took us…

to a gorgeous view from the top of a hill overlooking a country valley.  A great example of what the Pacific Northwest looks like in November!  🙂  Pretty, isn’t it?a-hill-with-a-view

We just had to be careful, because there were a lot of hunters out looking for game…

yep.  ‘Tis the season.

I didn’t want anyone straying too far from the main road, because you never know who’ll be glancing over at just the time you’re moving through the brush, and decide you look like their next meal!!!

But we had a great time getting out and washing away the cares of the daily grind in the beauty of the scenery.

BTW:  I just had some very interesting news!  My sister just called me and informed me that she’s a new Grandma!!!  Her daugher just had a baby boy this morning… Nope…I didn’t finish the cap in time, (I’m waiting on my new B-day loom to get here so that I can do it justice, lol!)  but the ‘Lil Tykie booties will be finding some new little feet to perch on!  🙂  I’m sure I’ll have some pics to share with you soon.

Have a great week, K?  K!  😀

…a little laundry tip!

This isn’t terribly exciting, but I thought I’d tell you about something that I’ve recently discovered…about…

dirty laundry.  YUCK!  😛  Who doesn’t have pile after pile of the stuff gathering in the corners of every room in the house?!  Well, hopefully it isn’t that bad yet, lol!  But, I’ve recently found a little trick to stay on top of those mountains of clothes needing to be cleaned.  Here it is:

  1. Every day gather whatever has accumulated in the hampers and sort into your light/dark/mediums wash baskets…we have one of those 3 sectioned wheelie carts…works great!  (there shouldn’t be so much, because this is an every day thing, right?)
  2. In between all your other running around during the day, start just one load of laundry.
  3. Whatever was left in the dryer from the load before, you will sort on the way out of the dryer into individual baskets belonging to different family members.  For me, this is a basket for each of my girlies, and one for my hubby and I.  Our clothes get folded as I grab them out of the dryer, and the girls get to theirs…well, eventually, lol!  Haven’t nabbed down how to get that done in a timely matter yet.  ;P  But this way you’re only touching your clothes once, rather than doing each thing separately!
  4. Whatever is folded of your own gets taken straight to your bedroom and put away…or is taken there when you’re heading to bed.   Your kids’ baskets can be taken by them using the same method.
  5. Enjoy the peace of mind of keeping up with at least ONE thing in your hectic schedule!  🙂

Hope that helps lighten your load a little!  Do you have any great laundry tips you’d like to share?  Feel free to enlighten us (I’m just full of puns today, lol!) in the comments section!

karens-dvdAnother interesting little tidbit…if you’d like to have her tutorial videos showing how to knit these, you can pick up a DVD of the entire project, from start to finish.

I’ve already received mine, and look how cute it is!  I just love the cover…very professional.

😀

100-paperOn another note… about another class…

I got my 2nd paper,

and look what it says!  Yippee!!!

My first paper received a 90%… on a technicality, lol.  ;P

But I’m quite proud of this one.  Now let’s hope I did just as well on the test we had last week!  I’ll keep you posted…  Have a wonderful week, okay???
