Well! We’ve been working on the Pinwheel Blanket by Denise Layman at the Loom Knitter’s Clique. Let me tell you…this pattern ROCKS!!! I just love the way the short rows create a round object! And one of the best part of this pattern is that once you get the rhythm down, you don’t have to worry about counting rows. This is a very good thing, as there are so many, lol! I have increased the pattern to make a lap blanket for me and my family, rather than a baby receiving blanket…needless to say, this makes more work! 😛
But nonetheless~I have progress! This is a pic of what I’ve got done so far on the edging…
I have finished a total of 16 points…with my figuring, I’ll need a total of 40: each of which is 14 rows…this means I’ll need a grand total of 560 rows!!!! Whooooey! Now, you see why I’m excited that I don’t actually have to keep count as I go? All I have to do is count the little points. 🙂
There is one little snag. I went through my entire first skein of Bernat Softee Chunky, and this created exactly 13 points. I only have 2 more skeins, and yes, you’re right…this only adds up to 39 total possible. Uuggghh! Well, maybe I’ll be able to fudge a bit, and get it to stretch around, or I’ll have to purchase (I hope they still have it at the LYS!) another skein just to finish the last point.
Oh, well. I think it’s definitely worth it to get to pull my very first blanket from my UFO basket, to the one labeled “Yep, All Done, Baby!” ~Don’t you?
Bethany~
OMG, it is gonna be gorgeous! Aw, now you’ve gone and made me want to make a big one for myself! Naughty, Bethany!
Just looked at the pic of your hubby and daughter. How nice! And your hubby looks a lot like mine in the face…just that mine needs to LOSE WEIGHT! They keep their hair and beard the same and wear similar shaped sunglasses. My first thought was, “Bethany has a handsome husband.” Then I realized the similarities. LOL! So funny!
Bethany~
Lookin’ good! Can’t wait to see it when it is finished. Your family is very lucky to have a blanket like that!
