Springtime Loom Alongs~

Hello there!  Just wanted to pop in and let you know that there are a couple of loom alongs happening right now/very soon which involve patterns to be found right here at Gettin’ It Pegged!  🙂

First up is the Loom Knit Spa Set, which is happening at the Ravelry Loom Along Group now through May.  This would be an excellent project to give as a Mother’s Day gift!  The pattern can be found here.

The second loom along is going to be starting April 18th and running through the 30th and will be held at the Yahoo Loom Class Group.  It’s the itty bitty bag!  This is a fun and useful item for anyone, and would make a great little Easter basket stuffer.  😉  You can find this project on the Freebies page.

I hope you can join us at these 2 fun events! 🙂

Under the Gun! :)

Hey all!  …just wanted to pop in and let you all know that I’m still here, but just looming like crazy to get everything done in time for our photography shoot for the upcoming book!  Yippee! 😀

If you don’t hear from me, please know that I’m a little bogged down and will try to get back to you very soon.  Patience is very much appreciated, and as I’ve heard somewhere before…a virtue! 😉

I would like to announce a teeny weeny secret about the book that I haven’t spilled yet:

This book is all about loom knitting for kidletts!  From toys to garments, you’ll find about 30 original projects inside… I hope you all like the idea.  Stay tuned for more updates soon.

Keep yourselves busy looming and enjoying the new snippets of spring sunshine in the meantime!

The funniest thing happened…

…as I was jettin’ through the drive-thru at Starbucks this morning after dropping my lovely daughter off at school…

Super easy double knit scarfie to make a matching set to my half fingered gloves!

I was concerned about the fact that I hadn’t really done much about my hair or face before zipping out the door, but the guy at the window was so intrigued by the loom knitted set I was wearing that he didn’t pay a lick of attention to anything else! Lol.  He loved the colors and loved the set and wanted one for himself immediately.  hehehee.

Click on the pic for the links and info on this pattern by Karen Gielen!

*Lesson Learned:  If you want to avoid close scrutiny to your person, make sure to wear some fabulous and brightly colored loom knitted goodies as camouflage.  It seems to have the same effect as Obi Wan Kenobi waving his arm across someone’s vision and saying, “These aren’t the droids you’re looking for.” 😉

Give it a try sometime… you might be surprised at your  magical loomy powers!
