“F” is for Friday, Fun & a little bit of Freaking-out.

Here are some fun shots of my little family and I enjoying the Puyallup State Fair.  These were taken two Fridays ago…

We really had a lot of fun! 🙂

Fast forward to this Friday and find me a frazzled mess near to an official nervous breakdown, lol.  Blame it on time lines, shipping issues, and trouble burning DVDs.  As hubby came home, he found me ready to throw my speakers through the computer screen, as I babbled incoherently.

He ever-so-sweetly unclenched my fists from the strands of  hair still not ripped from my skull and lead me to a nice, quiet bed with instructions to get a little bit of rest.  He brought me in some aspirin with an iced drink and said that when I was feeling better, if I would like, he would take me on a date to ride the ferris wheel at the last weekend of the fair for this year.

This is ever so extra sweet of him, as when we were 12 and 13 years of age, we had our first sort-of kidish date at our SW Washington Fair…we rode the scrambler.

I thought he was adorable.

My feelings haven’t changed.

I’m such a lucky gal!  🙂

FO’s~ (of the previously un-finished objects, but are now officially NOT un-done, lol)

Is one of these YOURS? 😉

(The above were created with the help of my darling daughter, Emily, who is the quickest presser in the west!  …and I’m super happy to say that no fingers were sewn through during the process of making these particular goodies...this time.)

Bookmarks! 🙂

(These were designed by Tanya with Made by Telaine…aren’t they adorable?!   They were then decorated by the two other members of my fam: Hubby used the Crop-o-Dile and added teeny-weeny eyelets to each of the second o’s (bless him!).  My Megan, who is the quickest ribbon tie-er in the West (if not the whole world!) then proceeded to bedeck each of them with a pretty bit of colorful ribbon.  What would I do without my amazing peeps, I ask you??)

Whew!  Glad that part’s done! 🙂

Just a few more things to still mark off the list…most importantly, the you-know-what, lol!  I’ve just uploaded what should be the final version last night, so let’s cross our “everything in sight” for good measure, k?  …my humble thanks.

Upcoming Loom Along! :)

I’m so pleased to introduce to you a brand new project…

Servin’ Up Stripes Loom Knit Table Runner!

I’ve posted the file on the Freebies page… ready to go, just for you!

We’re planning on having a loom along with this project in two different places for the month of October! 🙂

Here’s where you can play along:

  1. Monthly Loom-a-Long Group in Ravelry
  2. My own group at Yahoo: Gettinipegged: Loom Knitter’s Chat Clique

I certainly hope you can join in on the fun and make one of these with us!

The cool thing about this project is that it has different elements that make it a fun experience for all skill levels.  My two daughters actually made the sample you see here.  Well…they actually made two for an order for Provo Crafts last year, lol.  They were very much beginners in the art of loom knitting at the time, but were able to whip these out and learn a few things during the process.  🙂

I thought that now would be the perfect time to finally release the pattern, because I think this table runner has so many fantastic possibilities for Autumn and Holiday home decorating!  Can you imagine some snowflakes embroidered on this?  Or can you see this loom knit in Autumn colors with pumpkins or fall leaf shapes appliqued in just the right places?  Or  how about making one in the colors of your favorite alma mater to show your team spirit!  How fun is that?

I can’t wait to see what kind of themes and colors you all come up with during the Loom Along! 😀  Until then, feel free to pop on over to the Freebies page and download your copy of the pattern so that you can be all ready with your supplies for the class.

Another piece of loomy news!

I’ve added the Sweet Pea Skirt/Hat pattern to my Artfire shop, for those of you who might not have been able to access it through the Kickstarter Book Launch.  If you were a backer, this pattern was automatically provided as a gift to you. If you weren’t a backer but, still wanted this super cuteness of a pattern, I thought I’d make it available to you too. 😉  Just pop on over to purchase your copy here.

That’s it for now… I’ve got to get going on more of those book preparations!  Stay tuned for more news forthcoming on that issue soon. 😉

Here’s wishing you all a very happy weekend!
