How could I resist adding just a few new projects as I complete the previous ones on the list? I just can’t avoid those tempting skeins of yarn calling me from hither and yon and begging to be made into something lovely and fantastic. (and yes, they do call me…from my yarn cubes, from my various baskets and bags, from the yarn stores…you name it, they call me, lol! I should probably be committed, I know.)
I have updated my Progress Bar to show a couple of new items that I really want to complete:
- The 25th Street Stole by Jenny Stark, which I am making into a fluffy and textured scarf by using only 18 pegs of the blue round KK loom and some of my very own girly’s hand spun thick and thin yarn. This project is a pure delight, let me tell you! It’s a super easy pattern to follow and an excellent yarn to play with…a winning combination! 🙂
- Blanket Sweater! This is a new project I’ve been having fun with and hope to have it all done by Christmas. This is going to be a bit of a challenge, as it is a pretty large project. I’m a glutton for punishment. I estimate it is going to require 19 skeins of Hometown USA by Lion Brand. Yikes! Wish me luck.
I have removed the scarf sets (and Koby) as I am now calling them done. Yay! I haven’t shown much in the way of progress in the losing weight progress bar because, well… I have to be honest. I’m not really going to be serious about that goal until the holidays are over, lol! I have lost 4 lbs since starting, though…that’s a little something, right? 😉
I did complete an additional eensy-weensy little rush order for a new friend of mine. He’s a retired and recovering injured Marine and is learning to needle knit as part of his recovery. Isn’t that cool? His friend and therapist who taught him how to knit is having her first grand-baby and so he asked if I could whip something up in a hurry to be able to give a hand crafted piece of baby goodness. How could I say no to that? I grabbed my red round KK loom and my little KK flower loom and made him some adorable ‘lil Rome-ettes (a more lacy version of Romeo’s, lol) and a sweet Pom Pom Hat, all in one evening! 🙂 I just love how they turned out, don’t you?
Here’s a slideshow of all the loomy loot… the finished items as well as the progress of the ones I’m currently and diligently working on. Hope you enjoy!
What’s been hanging out on your looms lately, as you count down the days to Christmas?
Bethany~
Hahaha! You asked what’s been hanging out on my looms? Well, a green and white pinwheel blanket that I was supposed to finish and make into a cute Christmas lapghan for this season. I was going to put Jenny’s poinsettia’s on it, too. 😛 it’s been on the loom for, um, 3 months. I know, I KNOW! Don’t even say it. I guess I might finish it some day.
Looks like you have been a busy, busy bee 🙂 The projects all look fabulous! I am loving the way Emily’s yarn is working up. So pretty and smooshy, haha. I love the colors in the Rome-ettes set and the Honeycomb set. And the blanket sweater looks like it is going to be awesome. It all looks wonderful. Lucky gift recipients 😉 Hope you have a great weekend ❤
What’s on my looms? I have a sweater on one, your LAL table runner on another, a scarf on a third, and I just finished 2 Lacy Scarflet’s and a hat as my final knit Christmas gifts for the family. I am looking forward to getting some of these larger projects finished in the New Year so I can have my looms back. 🙂
I love your projects — the little hat and booties are just adorable. But then, I love all your work!
Happy Holidays
Karen
How lovely to see! I am jealous that you have the time and space to lay out your stuff for decent pictures! lol! Mine go into a pile on my chair, and I at least try to catch it in bulk, since it is stuff that all will be mailed, and since I don’t want to post it on fb (others see it on their home pages! Can’t have that!) – I am not going to worry about whether I get individual pics or not – plus ny camera got funky – so I am applying budget think.
Since this is my first Xmas looming gifts, I am just going full bore to get them done and out! I may have bit off more than I can chew, but so far, I am gamely keeping up. All your things are so lovely and CALM (lol!) looking! Can’t wait to see your blanket sweater! Congrats on any and all progress you made – and I hope you are definitely enjoying ALL the goodness, (including good eats!) during the holidays! The smartest progress I have made was to actually sit down and learn to understand heels. That sped things up SO much, since the hidden “tangle/worry” in my brain is gone! shoe/slipper sizes still drive me nuts, but hey – those feet on the receiving end are about 700 miles away! But they are in the ball park, and if I have to redo anything, we will all live! lol!
I posted a pic of 1st heels, Dee Slippers to my album. Currently – Nothing on LOOM! It’s organize, finish, stuff, wrap this next batch and mail, and then on to more! (kids stuff)/& hats.
Otherwise I am starting to lose stuff! (may show up in a cassarole -lol!)
I really liked your post post.Truly thank you! Awesome.
