Loom Knitting for Little People…Contest Drawing! :)

Loom Knitting for Little People! preliminary cover

As we head into Week Two of our launching the grand opening for the new loom knitting publication, I’d like to introduce a little something to sweeten the pot.  😉

A Contest Drawing!

Each and every person who pledges/pre-orders their  signed copy of the book through our Kickstarter Grand Opening will be put into a few drawings for sensational goodies at the end of the launch!  🙂  I always love a good giveaway!

There will also be a little reward for those spreading the word about it, blogging, twittering, facebooking, telling their neighbors at garden parties, whispering to strangers on street corners…you get the idea, lol.  For each person who lists your name as the person who referred them in the comments section at Kickstarter, once they’ve made their own pre-order, you’ll get an additional entry!  So really, the number of times you can be entered into the prize pot is unlimited…sweet!  🙂

So what are the prizes, you ask?

  • Drawing ONE:  a signed copy of Loom Knitting for Little People!  (I realize you’ll have already ordered your own copy at this point, but who doesn’t like a spare?…or one to give a special someone…or so you can have one to use in your reference library and another “bang-up copy” to keep in your looming bag?) 😉
  • Drawing TWO:  a digital copy of the book!  (I know all you I-Pad and Kindle users will appreciate this little goody.)
  • Drawing TREE:  a 2 Cool 4 Stix Tote! (handmade and hand printed in colors of your choosing…see here for examples of previous totes)
  • Drawing FOUR…and this is a doozyAn item of YOUR request, from the book, specially loomed by me for you.  🙂

What do you think?  Do you like those options?  I hope so!  Do you know why?  I hope it will help you all spread the word and if you’re planning on pre-ordering, to go ahead and  feel free to do so. 😉  The deal through Kickstarter is an all or nothing kind of thing.  We all get our goodies and items when the goal has been met by the timeframe originally set.  In this case, August 4th is the last day….

In Kickstarter’s very own words:

“This project will only be funded if at least $4,500 is pledged by Thursday Aug 4, 2:26pm EDT.”

Not that we won’t be able to still sell the books after the fact, if we don’t achieve the goal in time (…and of course I will honor your pledges!  Please don’t worry about that…we’ll just have to re-submit the purchases through another venue)  But what it will mean is that it will take that much longer to be able to get those funds into the hands that are most needing it…the purpose behind the publication in the first place.  If we each pledged the $30 to receive the signed copy of the book, a limited edition bookmark and a 2 Cool 4 stix button, it would only take 150 people doing so to reach our goal…that sounds pretty easy to do, since there are so many of you (way above that number) looking for new loom knitting patterns to get your creative juices flowing! 🙂

I thank you so much for listening, and for spreading the news…and for being a part of this very exciting time.  We can actually use our yarnie talents to do something really meaningful and lasting!  I also want to extend another heart felt thank all those who have already pre-ordered their copies and have shared the news with others…your encouragement and support are invaluable!  You’re awesome! 😀

Okay…that’s all I have to say today…pledge, share, prizes…that about sums it up, lol.  Enjoy your weekend…and make sure to find some public place to loom out loud tomorrow!  It’s World Wide Knit In Public Day!  😀

I went to Kid Knits and will order yarn or a kit when it is closer to your book release. Right now two colors are sold out (orange and black). This is such a worthy cause in itself. You are making this a win/win purchase Bethany. I loved the fact that it is for a cause, but now I see even more giving in the book with yarn from Rwanda and supporting a better life through a purchase of that yarn. I cried as I read each persons struggles from that group. And to think a child is taking on this as a project with her family. Wonderful.

Jeannette, you’re such a kind hearted person! 🙂 I completely agree with
you about the whole idea of KidKnits.org and what they’re helping to
support…and that it’s built from a young girl and her family’s ideals and
sense of global caring. They’re definitely worth supporting!

I heard from a little birdie that they might be having a special promotion
when you purchase all 4 skeins at once, nearer the time of the release of
the book…so stay tuned for that fun announcement! 😉

Bethany, I just saw the WWKIP DAY flier for America, (and all the other countries) and was wondering if they could possibly put a round loom on it, also, since some of us are “too cool 4 stix” LOL 🙂 Just a suggestion.

I hope that some of my friends will help Bethany with her project on Kickstart. I think it sounds like a wonderful organization that she is also help funding, plus the book looks great! I don’t find the time to make every looming project that is out there, but I do try to support those who have the gift of design & sharing. If you have never loom knit, this might be a good time to start…plus she’s also giving away prizes!
