Last year at our blogiversary party, we played a super fun game where we all participated in writing a story, bit by bit, person by person. It was such a fun experience…I can remember how excited I was every time a new entry was made to the story! It was a really wonderful feeling to be a part of creating something with so many others at the same time, across miles of cyberspace…very cool! 😀
Well…as kind of a thank you for your participation in that game, as well as your support and encouragement before and since, I compiled all those entries into one readable story…an incredible adventure in one day of a dedicated loom knitter’s life! I hope you enjoy!
Also…here’s the pattern in PDF form for the Scrubby-O’s…double enjoy! 😉
Bethany~
Hi Bethany –
I just wanted to stop by to wish you a Happy Blogiversary and to thank you for the free pattern and videoes for this scrubby even though I wasn’t able to take part at the beginning. I haven’t done ANY looming all summmer long with my garden and outdoor work. I’ve always wanted to give these a try so now with your excellent videoes and pattern I’ll be trying it soon easing my way back into loom knitting. Today, I’ll be walking to a new dollar store that just opened, and I’ll look for that tulle – just maybe they’ll have some too. :o) You’ve planned some really wonderful and fun things for your Blogiversary!
Scarlett
Oh, thanks so much, Scarlett! I’m really glad you had a chance to stop by. 😀 I was able to find that tulle at the Dollar Tree, so if that’s the store near you, then you should be able to find some…if not, it’s readily available at craft and fabric stores. I’m really glad to hear that this project will help you get back into looming in an easy and satisfying way…have fun!!! 😀
Yes, it’s a Dollar Tree store so fingers crossed! Off to go get ready…
These were truly a fun fast project. Congrats on the second year blog-versary. I also like the new visor cap your daughter is posing for in the patterns. I’ll have to get that one now too. Very useful here in the south. I wear a visor every time I mow the yard. These will be more absorbent too. This is fun.
It’s really cute isn’t it? …and you’re right, it is very absorbant! I used the Cotton Ease by Lion Brand, so it really makes a nice cool cap…I like Cotton Ease for so many things, as it has the benefits of cotton, yet has a little more body to it with the added acrylic.
I’m really glad you’re having so much fun! Hugs!
I just read the story from last year. I was laughing really hard and my phone rang. My friend wanted to know why I was home alone and laughing so hard. She is the one who doesn’t like my stash, it makes her ‘nervous’ she says. She couldn’t believe that I could be having so much fun. What do I say to that BBBbbbtttthhhh to her. *raspberries in keyboard lingo. I’m having a blast here today. Thanks Bethany. I still haven’t finished the scrubbie O but will in a few minutes.
hhehehee…I’m so glad you’re having such a great time today! It makes my day extra special to hear so. 🙂 It sounds like your friend needs to find something she reeeeeeeaaaaallllllly loves doing, then she probably won’t “fear” your stash any longer, lol!
What a fun story!! And “knowing” the authors made it even more special!!
It was such a fun experience…I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed reading it! 🙂
Well, my Dollar Tree did indeed have the tulle, both in white and ivory. YAY! Thanks for the heads-up…I never would have thought to look for it there.
Oh, I’m so glad, Scarlett! Now you can get onto that scrubby! 😉
Happy blogiversary! Gosh I’ve been out of the loop (no pun intended) since I haven’t been looming much. Hope you have a good one 🙂
We have been having a great time today! Thanks so much for stopping by, Karen! I’ve been missing folks from the “previous 2008 generation”, lol!
Totally enjoyed the Blogiversary 2008 Saga!! Some of you ladies have a 2nd career in creative writing…
Congratulations Bethany. You throw a great party!
Oh, thank you so much, Margery! I’m so glad you got to come, and that you liked the Saga…it was quite illuminating, wasn’t it, lol! 😉
Wonderful blog keep up the good work, am struggling with the kitchen biscuit. But will keep at it. Driving DH crazy, he says just give up. Mine is so crummy looking.
Hi, there, Joyce! I’m so glad you’re enjoying your perusing…
But, please tell me what’s happening with your little Scrubby-O? Can I help at all??
Having a blast reading about your party. I am not sure how to play your fibery contest to submit the URL…Just not talented with computers…Trudy
Hiya, Trudy! 🙂
I just wanted to pop in and give you a little help on how to do this…
When you search out something you like, go up to the url bar and copy the address, then come on back to the Fiber Hunt and paste the address right there in your comment…simple! 🙂 Just make sure to do just one link per comment, so that the Spam Monster doesn’t eat your fibery treasure, lol! 😉
Hope this helps get you going on your hunt…
Bethany~
Не совсем в тему, но вопрос такой возник автору. А почему вы именно wordpress выбрали для своего блога. Я вот ваш блог постоянно читаю 🙂
