*New Freebie!

Hello everyone! 🙂

Chunky Slipper Socks!

Chunky Slipper Socks!

Pattern was made specially for the Even Knit Sock Loom by dalooms.com!

I’ve recently placed a new pattern on the Peggin’ Pages: the Chunky Slipper Socks, as well as creating a new pattern called Pretty Peds for the new Decor Accents EvenKnit Sock Loom. Well, each of these new patterns involve a grafting technique you may have heard of: the Kitchener Stitch.

Let me tell you now…this stitch is a little tricky to get the hang of! It has a total of 4 steps required in order to bind off just 2 stitches. BUT! I cannot say enough wonderful things about this great technique! When done correctly, you absolutely cannot see a seam line…your seaming stitches look like just another row of knitting….marvelous! 🙂

The instructions found for this grafting technique are all based on knitting terms…which is fine, but just a tad confusing for those of us who are not regular knitters. Also, the instructions are usually large and not very conducive for tucking into your knitting bag.

So…because I’ve been wanting one for myself, and have been teaching the Chunky Slipper Socks in my local looming group (which, by the way, was so fun last night! Great to see you ladies!), I decided to design a little pocket Quickguide based on terms loom knitters will be more familiar with. Remember this is not an end-all tutorial…it’s just a little guide to tuck into every knitting bag you may have need of one, to help you remember the repetitive steps a little easier as you do them. 🙂

Kitchener St Looming Guide-pg 1aThis is a download-able PDF file that you can print from y0ur own computer at home (I recommend using card stock for more strength). The file includes 2 copies of front and back cards that you can place back to back and then laminate to make it last longer and protect it as you’re digging around for your knitting tools, lol.

I hope you like it…Enjoy! 😀

*Pretty Peds!

PrettyPedsHomeI am so excited that I finally get to share these babies with you all! 🙂  I tend to keep working on  projects that have to be kept top secret, and so I have a lack of fun things to share on the loomy front, lol.

I was asked in April if I’d be willing to create a special project for the release of a brand new and innovative loom from Decor Accents…the Even Knit Sock Loom!  Of course I jumped at the chance to play with this new toy, and let me tell you, I LOVE IT!  It’s now my most favorite loom, as it is so easy on the hands and wrists to use!  Also, the stitches it creates definitely live up to it’s name…they’re even and absolutely perfect!  🙂  It’s as simple as doing the e-wrap, but with the same results as using the knit stitch!

This project took me 3 run-throughs before I figured out the exact construction, but now it works just grand.  Let me tell you, I really love wearing these cuties!  I get to feel a little bit like a princess and keep catching myself looking at my feet, lol! 😉  They’re so pretty…and that stretchy sock yarn from Patons is the perfect match for this project.  I highly recommend it. 🙂

So…what are you waiting for???  Hop on over to dalooms.com to pick up your copy today, and check out that awesome loom!!!

PS: You may have noticed a new video tutorial on the Twisted Stitches Pretty Peds-close uppage.  Well…this was sneakily placed there in anticipation of the posting of this new pattern, for it involved a brand new technique I like to call the Picot Cast On, as well as the Picot Bind Off, and Edging.  So don’t forget to check out the video for extra help in how to create this very cute embellishment style!

Keepin’ on…

Hello, everybody! 😀 I keep thinking about you all and about how I want to post about things that are happening here, but I just don’t get the chance to dive in as deeply as I wish to.  If you’re watching for what’s goin’ on in my little corner of the world, you can gleen little snippets on my Twitter page found on the right hand sidebar.  I do make the use of  little stolen minutes that I jump on and tweet little tidbits of what’s happening…but in general, I’m just keepin’ on, keepin’ on. 😉

I didn’t realize how much I wasn’t doing at home until I directed my gaze completely on that front and saw what a mess my corners are…whew!   Talk about stacks everywhere that were just put aside to be gotten to when the time was right.  Let me tell you, the time really never was right, judging by how many there are, lol!  So, in light of the fact that we will be moving soon, I figured I’ll just go through them all as I organize and pack.  Much simpler and more streamlined that way.  Now I see clearly what my hubby was complaining about.  😛  Did I tell you I’m a serious pack rat???

On another note, I thought I’d share another photo from my Digital Photography class… that I got a 14 out of 15 points.   This category was for Portraiture.  I was able to catch a lovely shot of my darling daughter snuggling with my great nephew Blake…aren’t they so cute??

I also have some fun shots of my hubby’s birthday last night, which I will share soon, I promise!  Have a wonderful day…
