a Thank You to Brian Jacques…
I just heard that the author of the fantastical and adventurous Redwall stories, Brian Jacques, passed away on February 5th.
These stories were (and still are) some of my eldest daughter’s most treasured books. These were her go-to stories, the ones she just had to have copies of each one in the series all for her very own…the style of which she transferred to many of her own written stories as she developed her imaginative writing skills.
These are the things I wish to thank Brian Jacques for…an open door to an exciting world that was the perfect fit for my then adolescent Emily; a place for her to begin to imagine what it was like to stretch her wings and fly on her own with bravery and an applied sense of humor to the hard things you inevitably encounter in life.
…from the aisles of Redwall, we send a final thank you and heartfelt farewell. You will be missed.
