Bitten by Jack Frost~

We’ve been having some pretty impressive weather systems come through the Pacific Northwest this week.  First we had 7-24″ of snow across the Puget Sound and areas further south.  Then Mr. Frost decided to top that off with a nice crusting layer of ice across the whole thing, by means of a day of frozen rain.  Needless to say, because we’re not used to dealing with these kinds of conditions around here, it’s left everyone scrambling (and sliding, lol!) to try to get back to everyday life.  Megan has been out of school the entire week for a vacation in Winter Wonderland. 🙂  I have to say that for myself, it’s been a pretty cool deal!  We snuggled in tight, luckily kept our electricity going (as so many had theirs cut off due to ice and branches on the power lines), started some knitting projects, and mainly felt a little bit like it was a second Christmas break. 🙂

I wanted to show you the photos I was able to capture of this event…some of of the pure and absolute beauty of the ice coated…well…everything!  Others are of us just having fun. I hope you enjoy!

beautiful photos! I love taking pics of snow and ice too.

  3. Great pictures! I was a little jealous that the snow was in Washington and not in my part of Portland. It’s pretty rare for both our areas. Glad you enjoyed it.

These are wonderful pictures, Bethany. I especially love the one with the red berries, and the flower buds enclosed in ice. So pretty. We’ve only had skiffs of snow, then rain to wash it all away 🙂 I’m glad you’ve got some pretty, white, fluffy stuff. Hugs!

  6. Thoroughly enjoyed your beautiful photos… they reveal the gorgeous craftsmanship of our LORD. We have not had much of the beauty of the winter season this year, here in the Kansas City area… but, we are experiencing some extremely cold air, which keeps me inside, also 🙂 Enjoy your “winter wonderland”!!!

Beautiful photos, thank you for sharing. I have always enjoyed the snow and ice storms (as long as, it still leaves my lights on). I enjoy the clean crisp air and the snow that renew our town with a blanket of purity, stillness and peacefulness. I even enjoy shoveling it (as long as, I don’t slip and fall). We have had some really chilling cold spells and some mild. One thing, I enjoy the most, just as it starts to sprinkle heavy snowflakes looking out the window and watching the perfect ballet always greeting me like an old dear friend. 🙂

Thank you so much everyone! I’m so glad you’ve been enjoying these little fragments of our wintry week. Now it’s all rain, wind, and slush, lol! 😉

Ro, your comment is so filled with poetry. I could actually see and feel everything you wrote…how lovely! Thank you for putting it into the perfect words…especially that last line! 🙂
