As my wonderful hubby was getting ready to head out the door to work this morning, my newest pick from the library caught his eye. I chose this in CD format to listen to while working on my own knitting. 😉
He laughed at me and then proceeded to tell his own story about what a book with this title could possibly be about.
“Nancy and Teresa sat opposite from each other, needles clicking furiously, as they raced to be the first ones finished with their booties. Little did they know that Debra down the table from them had brought in her own advantage: she had snuck in her kitten under the table, who was expertly unwinding her ball of yarn with it’s batting paws, giving her the edge the others couldn’t even dream of. While they were eyeing each other’s work, Debra beat them both to the punch. She was the first to finish her bootie!”
Heeheeeehee! But, then when I confessed that last night I found the most wonderful of knitting tools I have ever seen, and couldn’t resist pre-ordering right there on the spot, he rolled his eyes at me. I told him, “No, you don’t understand! It’s like a Leatherman for knitting! Everything is contained in one awesome little package!” Okay folks, if you don’t know what I’m talking about, you absolutely need to right now check out Scoutswag‘s newest little knitting hottie: the Knit Kit! Her first batch was sold out in one hour! I can definitely see why.
Anyway…as my hubby was walking out the door, the sounds of his voice lifted in song drifted on the breeze: “Mama, don’t let your babies grow up to be KNITTERS…”
I beg to differ! 😉
Bethany~
Jen and I, both, have been eyeing those boogers! I just…I can’t buy it right now! AH! I need to buy a piano accompaniment book for church! Man!!! Oh, well. They will be around when I do get to order, I’m sure. LOL!
Oh, and my hubby heard about that as I bounced in my seat when I first saw it on either Craftzine.com or Lime & Violet. Hahaha! I told him that I WOULD have one as he rolled his eyes at me. 😛 Husbands! Yours doesn’t play World of Warcraft, does he? Because mine does and he talks about that silly game like I talk about yarn stuff, but he doesn’t even realize that I don’t care about that, just like he doesn’t care about my yarn stuff. 😛
I think your husband needs to become a writer 😀 his version was adorable, LOL
Also, I’m already in trouble, all of my daughters are facinated with knitting. Even my 3 year old wants to try.
The Knit Kit looks so cool doesn’t it?
Looks like a great tool but, I want a stitch counter that counts hundreds! I tend to make quite a bit that is over 99 rows:-) Thanks for sharing tho! Oh and LOVE your hubby’s version.
Haha – that is one witty hubby you have on your hands 🙂 Too fun! He would make a great writer 😉
Robin is right, we have been eyeing that handy little gadget up and down. You’ll have to give us a little review when you get a chance.
Have a great day!
I loved the story your husband told. I have a funnier story. My Mother in law in Georgia is a died in the wool conservative Baptist. I took the Friday night knitting club book with me on vacation. While at the doctor with my sister in law (and the knit shop next door to that) my MIL read part of the book where I had left my bookmark. Wouldn’t you know it, that was the steamy part about the woman having an affair and dreaming about the sexy father of her daughter and a steamy night together. Well, two days later, blushing she asked me about the book. I hadn’t gotten that far and didn’t know she would read it, then when I did read it I had to laugh and laugh. Now she thinks us knitters are into deep sexual things too.Too funny.
Hey, Scout only had 20 of those tools and guess what? I got one, its on its way-yippee!! It sold out in like ten minutes. By the time I read the page, marked it and came back they were almost gone. When my order was approved it said, afterward, sold out. Mine was confirmed. Yeah me, part of my birthday present to myself.
You’ve been given another award! Run over to my blog and get it. 😀
