The following service announcement has been brought to you by the not so military headquarters of the LKLP Book Building Project…Current Status: “Situation Normal All Fouled Up” (I had no idea that this little term was an actual acronym until I looked it up just now, lol. I’ve posted the rated G version of it here for my own use, as well as your better reading enjoyment. 😉 If you’d like to hear the history of how this word came into our daily vernacular, pop on over to this link to hear the story directly from the person who made it up, way back in 1941, military time.)
——————————————————————————
Hellooooo there!
It’s been a while since I’ve been able to pop in here and chat a bit with you, I know. Things have been quite crazy around here, as you might well imagine. We’ve been working as a team getting everything all wrapped up and ready to send all your fabulous goodies to you from the Kickstarter Launch, as well as the Blogiversary Bash…as soon as we receive (and I sign, lol) all the books, we’ll be able to slide them into their packages with the other goodies and send them all winging their way to you!
But first thing’s first…all the i’s of the book need to be dotted and all those t’s crossed. I have a little confession to make. I had already placed the books on order and was all set to announce an official ship/release date when, in a flash of illumination, last night sitting in my new and super comfy arm chair recliner working a bit on a loomy project, it hit me. I had made a serious error in a technique…mostly on the part of an (well, a series of THREE, to be precise, lol) illustration. It was close to being correct, and it was actually an understandable mishap, but, alas, was NOT the correct technique. *sigh*
So, in a rush of email and phone conversations, I have managed to cancel that order without any harm and am now working on the brand new (and correct, lol!) illustrations to be popped into position…that having been done, we’ll place the order again. *sigh*sigh*
Needless to say, this will push our release date back a bit. But, I really would rather have a book as near to perfect as can be detected delivered into your hands late, than a book that contains a serious error. I just couldn’t live with that. I sincerely hope you understand and can sympathize with my pain and frustration at being forced to accept what will most likely be a delay of a month later than the original August release date. *sigh*sigh*sigh*
I’m hopefully and tentatively stating the new release/shipping date to be the 30th of September. Let’s all cross our fingers and toes that this is the last of the unexpected edits and the book will be released on time, and maybe (miracle of miracles) even early! 🙂
Thank you so much for hanging with me through this! I’m so glad that I have such a great bunch of loomy friends that I know appreciate the fact of occasionally having no where else to turn but to the froggie pond, even when we’re dealing with pages, not yarn.
I will have some excellent news to announce tomorrow, so please stay tuned! I know you’re gonna like it, I promise. It’s a bit of a loomy treat of the freebie variety! 😉
From the LKLP Book Building Project Headquarters…hang tough…signing out.
Bethany~
Beth, I was born in 1950 and habe heatd this word since I can remember. I’ve used it myself over the years. My “definition” thatome assumes from knowing a word or term forever..was ooops made a mistake ( or snag) in what I was doing have to stop fix or regroup then it was ok to continue on. snag and snafu to me about the same term. It isfantastic and fun to read the hhistory. thank you so much for sharing that link! wish my dad was still around..this would be a fun topic. hug!!! LindaJ
Ah poor Bethany! I work on the “better late than never” theory! I’m just so happy you have done the work to put this together for us! And you are absolutely right, better correct and late than wrong and on time! LOL
I thank you again for all your (and your helpers) hard work and I’ll be here waiting to play when the book is available!
I am glad you caught the “error”. Otherwise you would have received many emails down the line regarding this issue.
Instant gratification for me comes when I can see the results of my knitting. So take your time to make it the best book you can.
Peggi
LOL!!! My dad, a captain in the army in WW2 (deceased) would use that term all the time with our family, and it was so fun!!! We “kids” picked it up and would use it a lot when growing up. I still use it around my own family, and had to explain that it was an acronym for “situation normal all fouled up”…LOL!!! I ditto June and Peggi… no worries here 🙂
Jolene
Sorry you’ve hit a snag, Sunshine ❤ Glad you caught it and were able to get it resolved. Mwah!
