Finished Object Friday~

My Braided Cables Bag!This is my Braided Cables Bag. I just love this purse! It has everything a girl could want in a carryall…because is does carry all! It’s really very roomy. It also has a sturdy bottom base, and nice thick strap, which are supported by dowels inserted into the top edges. And no stretching out of shape because of the pretty, yet functional liner.

The back...and braided strap~I’ve been using this for some time now as my purse/lunch bag… and it’s great for…shhhhh!…sneaking candy into the theater! ;)

And a girl can’t have too many little swirly rosettes!

and fully lined, too!I’ve been waiting to post this until I was a little closer to be able to post a pattern. I was a tad hesitant because I felt (and still feel) that it is quite a project to undertake, and would be difficult to explain in a simple write up. I’ve decided to make another bag, along the same lines, only with simpler construction, so that anyone wanting this look, but not the cumbersome instructions, could whip one up in a jiffy. I’m just about ready, so I thought I’d give you a preview to keep your loomy wheels turning. :)

Have a Fantabulous Friday! We’re off to enjoy Narnia!!!! I’m taking my 2 girlies, and one of their close friends…and of course my best guy, up to Olympia to enjoy the show. I can’ t wait!

Last day for the Class!

Today is the last day for the online class on how to create the little baby booties.Last day of class!

I’ve had a lot of fun…this group has been so wonderful to spend a week with!  :)  And everyone has created (& are creating) absolutely adorable booties!  I’d like to be able to post some on the Clique Pics soon…

Now…I’m off packing!  Yep, it’s time again to move my little family…our house is just way too dinky.  Our last move was not planned, as the house we were renting ended up being sold, so we had to hurry and scramble around to find someplace to park, if only for a temporary solution…and one that would except pets (our cat & bunny) was even harder to find.  So this temporary solution has lasted for a year and a half, lol…and we’ve finally found a suitable replacement, again that would accept pets.  Now my husband doesn’t have to worry about being chased out of our only bathroom by us 3 girls, lol!!!

So…off I go…busy, busy, busy!  I will keep my eye on the computer, though, as I know that there still may be postings in the bootie class today.  Thanks again for an awesome online experience!  It was a lot of fun…we’ll have to do it again soon…maybe this little item?…

Bethany’s Baby Booties~Expanded 3/20

)

adorable…even on the bottom!

Aren’t they SOOO cute?!!

I’ve already gotten 3 requests to knit these babies up in assorted colors for people at my work…I even got to try them on a real live baby, and they fit just perfect!  (she was about 2.5 months)

But the real reason I’m knitting up little baby booties is to begin our Loom Knitter’s Clique “Online Classes Club”!  These will be held at the Gettin’ It Pegged Chat Clique, that you can join here.  This first class (series, I’m thinking) will be free!…and most thereafter, for that matter.  ;)

Hmmm…what could it be? …the only thing you need that maybe not everyone has at the moment, is a loom capable of knitting in a fine gauge.

The one I used on the booties above is from Decor Accents and can be found here.  But any fine gauge loom will do.

I would like to get a feeling for how many people would be interested in joining this project class in April…could you please leave a comment on this post to let me know?  Thanks so much!  This should be a fun looming endeavor!  :)

Bethany~

PS: EDIT!!  To join the class, just click on the link above to join the Gettin’ It Pegged…loom knitter’s chat clique, which was started just for the purpose of holding classes…and occasionally contests, etc! ;)

Also, I’ve gotten a lot of requests about whether or not it’s okay to use an Extra Fine Gauge loom for these little cuties…the answer is…Of Course! :)  You just need to do a little swatch and adjust the pattern as necessary…these knitted up at 11 stitches for every 2 inches using #4 Cotton Ease by Lion Brand yarn.

Also, this project is knit in a flat panel, so the loom just needs to have at least 40 pegs…more as needed for EFG looms  ;)

And Everyone…Thanks a Bunch for your wonderful comments, and willingness to loom along with me…Stay tuned for more details as I work out all the kinks in the process…and don’t forget to comment here so I can keep a good count…Thanks!!!

A little snugglie comfort~

Well, I haven’t finished with my little project, but I thought I’d give you a little pic of what I’ve done so far…see if you can guess what it’s going to be…

Hmmm…what could it be?

This is my first project using one of my new lovely “Christmas” looms from Decor Accents

This one is the XL adult FG sock loom.  I am LOVIN’ it!

I love the way it knits so tiny, even with E-Wraps…very cool.  :D

I also wanted to share with you something that has been one of my favorite comfort items, and has been in much use this last week…

My heatable neck snuggler!

My heated Snugglie Goodness~This baby is a miracle worker for a stiff neck & shoulders!  I made it myself by creating a tube out of simple muslin fabric, funnelling in a mixture of flax & millet seeds,  sealing it up, and since I wanted this to be a “pamper me” kind of item, I wanted it to be pretty…

…so I pieced together some of my favorite color fabrics, and made an outside slip cover that cinches in on each end with ribbon.  This way, I can give the outside of the bag a cleaning when needed.  You just pop this item in the microwave for about 4 minutes, and you’ve got yourself a wonderfully steamy comfort roll to wrap around your neck and shoulders!

The only thing I would do differently, and may still do if I ever get around to making another one of these (do you think a body sized one would fit in the microwave?) …I would make the roll about 8 inches longer, and stitch on a wide gross grain ribbon, or velcro fastener, so that it could be wrapped and secured snuggly around my neck/shoulders without having it hold in place (while typing, etc!)

Well, there you go…rush off to your fabric stash and whip up a little (or big) warm comfort snugglie for yourself…you deserve it!  Now, I’m off to the microwave to give mine a little re-heating.  :)

Just a lil’ Hello~

Hey, all!  :)

I don’t have a ton of stuff to post today… I just wanted to pop in to say “Hi!”

Silly Girl! :)I thought I’d show you a really cute picture of Emily that my dad took at Megan’s 12th birthday party.  He’s so good at placing the subject at just the right spot in the frame.  :)  If you’d like to see it bigger… just click on the pic!

Tomorrow (I think) I will be able to share a project with you that I’ve been messing with…I think it’s going to be pretty cute… cross your fingers!  I’ve been dealing with an extremely sore neck/shoulders/back this last weekend, and it’s still lingering, so if I don’t get back to show you tomorrow, at least you know it’ll be soon!  Right now, I should fly… to the medicine cabinet to grab some more pain killers. ;)  Happy Monday to you all!

Free Mitten Pattern Soon! :)

New Mittens for Me!This is just to let you know that I’m working furiously on a typed out version of the Mittens shown here.  These are made with a wonderful one-piece technique…no more making the thumb separately!  I got the idea from Isela Phelps Itty Bitty Mitts pattern.

I will most likely have the pattern ready for you to download by tomorrow, in both adult and kids size directions!

Here’s to toasty digits!   :)
