Lots and Lots of Loom Alongs!

Well…I think I’m a VERY big glutton for punishment…as well as most of the other online loomers out there, lol!  We just can’t get over the fun we have getting together and loom knitting something as a group.  It’s so enjoyable meeting new friends who have the same loom love as you and talking about great projects, yarn, and daily happenings.

Here’s a little run down of what’s going on out there, so you too can join in on the fun!…if you haven’t already.  ;)

At the Loom knitter’s Clique…we’re having a little impromptu Loom Along using Denise Layman’s Pinwheel Blanket Pattern!  All you need to join is to click on the button, join, enroll on the database, purchase your pattern here, gather your yarn…and get set to knit Sunday (yes, this is tomorrow…did I say impromptu?)

Here are my yarn choices for the blanket…

I love blues and browns together.

And over at the Loom Class Group…Jenny and Robin are teaching blocks #2 and 3 beginning tomorrow and lasting until April 26!

I’ve completed my block #1 and these are the colors I’ve decided on for my afghan…I just LOVE them, don’t you?

Well, since I’m moving, begin instructing a new group of college classes, and celebrating my daughter’s 16th birthday…I figured this is all I could possibly get away with signing my name to…

but there is still one more loom along that I know about, that you might enjoy joining, and it’s going on right now!

GettinItPeggedOver at Ravelry, in the Loom Along group, Isela is teaching her adorable bag pattern…the Felted Baguette!  If you haven’t enrolled in Ravelry yet,  GO NOW AND DO SO!!!  I can’t stress enough how fabulous this online fiber community is!  There’s a little waiting list, but they push you through pretty quickly, so you’ll be rollin’ with the yarnies in no time, lol!

Well, I hope you can join us for one or the other…or several…projects…it’ll be a blast!  :D

Last day for the Class!

Today is the last day for the online class on how to create the little baby booties.Last day of class!

I’ve had a lot of fun…this group has been so wonderful to spend a week with!  :)  And everyone has created (& are creating) absolutely adorable booties!  I’d like to be able to post some on the Clique Pics soon…

Now…I’m off packing!  Yep, it’s time again to move my little family…our house is just way too dinky.  Our last move was not planned, as the house we were renting ended up being sold, so we had to hurry and scramble around to find someplace to park, if only for a temporary solution…and one that would except pets (our cat & bunny) was even harder to find.  So this temporary solution has lasted for a year and a half, lol…and we’ve finally found a suitable replacement, again that would accept pets.  Now my husband doesn’t have to worry about being chased out of our only bathroom by us 3 girls, lol!!!

So…off I go…busy, busy, busy!  I will keep my eye on the computer, though, as I know that there still may be postings in the bootie class today.  Thanks again for an awesome online experience!  It was a lot of fun…we’ll have to do it again soon…maybe this little item?…

Bethany’s Baby Booties~Expanded 3/20

)

adorable…even on the bottom!

Aren’t they SOOO cute?!!

I’ve already gotten 3 requests to knit these babies up in assorted colors for people at my work…I even got to try them on a real live baby, and they fit just perfect!  (she was about 2.5 months)

But the real reason I’m knitting up little baby booties is to begin our Loom Knitter’s Clique “Online Classes Club”!  These will be held at the Gettin’ It Pegged Chat Clique, that you can join here.  This first class (series, I’m thinking) will be free!…and most thereafter, for that matter.  ;)

Hmmm…what could it be? …the only thing you need that maybe not everyone has at the moment, is a loom capable of knitting in a fine gauge.

The one I used on the booties above is from Decor Accents and can be found here.  But any fine gauge loom will do.

I would like to get a feeling for how many people would be interested in joining this project class in April…could you please leave a comment on this post to let me know?  Thanks so much!  This should be a fun looming endeavor!  :)

Bethany~

PS: EDIT!!  To join the class, just click on the link above to join the Gettin’ It Pegged…loom knitter’s chat clique, which was started just for the purpose of holding classes…and occasionally contests, etc! ;)

Also, I’ve gotten a lot of requests about whether or not it’s okay to use an Extra Fine Gauge loom for these little cuties…the answer is…Of Course! :)  You just need to do a little swatch and adjust the pattern as necessary…these knitted up at 11 stitches for every 2 inches using #4 Cotton Ease by Lion Brand yarn.

Also, this project is knit in a flat panel, so the loom just needs to have at least 40 pegs…more as needed for EFG looms  ;)

And Everyone…Thanks a Bunch for your wonderful comments, and willingness to loom along with me…Stay tuned for more details as I work out all the kinks in the process…and don’t forget to comment here so I can keep a good count…Thanks!!!

February Loom-A-Longs…Complete! :)

Well, I’ve been knitting so much this week!

I’ve been able to finish a super cute bag using cables, and rosettes…adorable!  BUT…at this point, it’s kinda top secret, so I can’t show a picture.  But I can tell you…I LOVE IT!  :)  I’ve been carrying it around this weekend as my purse, just to try it out, and it’s been everything I’d hoped!  It’s really roomy, too, which is a nice change from my last bag.  I kept having to cram everything in just right to get it all to fit.  Everyone I met kept complimenting me on my new purse.  That is a very satisfying feeling.  :)

Half Fingered Cable Mitts! And today, I finished the February LAL’s I had signed up for…Isela’s Cable Mittens, and Karen’s Half Fingered Gloves.  I kinda reworked each idea into a mesh of both.  This is what I came up with.

The palm side~The fingers were knit up using the little bitty sock loom from DAlooms…I’ve had that idea for a while, and wanted to give it a shot.  It worked pretty well, except the tension needs to be kept very loose to avoid being too tight on the fingers.  I’m fairly satisfied as a whole, just a few things here and there to tweek for next time.  I love the cable cuffs…perfect touch!  Thanks to Isela and Karen for sharing their projects!  You Rock!   :)
