Newest Clique Pics!

I’d love to share with you some new Clique Pics I received from my friend Marilyn, a sweet lady who has regularly attended our local loomers knit night for the past couple of years (Wow! Has it really been that long already??).   A BIG thanks goes to her for sending them along to me and giving me the go-ahead for doing a little “show-n-tell” for her.  :D

Chunky Slipper Socks by MarillynFirst up is our most recently published Peggin’ Pages Pattern:

Chunky Slipper Socks!

Don’t they look so fluffy and cozy?

Cabled Scarf by MarilynNext up are a couple of classics by Isela Phelps.

Cabled Mitts by MarilynWe spent a little time learning how to create cables on looms and these are the projects that Marilyn completed using this great technique!

Half Finged Gloves by MarilynAnd finally, we all enjoyed a series of classes on Karen Gielen’s Half Fingered Gloves, complete with her informative project DVD!  Didn’t Marilyn’s come out great?  :)

Brenda's bootiesOne more little item that has been listed on the Clique Pics page, but I didn’t formally introduce it here is this photo provided by Brenda Hoffman featuring both sets of baby tootsie wear:

Bethany’s Booties & ‘lil Tykies!

These are definitely the Cuteness!  :)

Thank you ladies so much for sharing these great photos of your very nicely done looming projects!  If you have any completed items created from projects found here at the Loom Knitter’s Clique, please feel free to send them to me pronto and I’ll be tremendously tickled to post them for all to see and admire.  :D

Happy Looming!

My Final Presentation~

Yippee and Yahoo!!! :D   I’m all done with college for the year!

I just completed my big final project for my digital photography class yesterday.  I was soooooo nervous, but everyone seemed to like it.  (and the instructor whispered to me that I had done an excellent job!) We all had to offically critique each other’s power point presentations, and I think this was what was making me so nervous.  Although, I do find it kind of funny that I had a hard time doing that, but I feel no compunction whatsoever about turning around and sharing my project with all of you online, lol!  Maybe it’s because I’m not physically standing in front of you, waiting to gauge your reaction in person…I guess I’m the kind of person who’s very well suited to hiding behind a computer screen.  ;)

Well…anyway…I would like to share it with you.  I’m sure you’ll spot some familiar objects and activities therein…and a few of my favorite local looming gals knitting none other than the Chunky Slipper Socks!  The format is a little more subdued, as the original had text animation, etc. but I had to convert the style to be able to upload online.  I hope you like it…please feel free to comment!  What grade do you think I should get on it???

Photo Projects~

I was finally able to open these photos to show you my 2 assignments for my Digital Photography class that I’ve actually gotten a 15 out of 15!  The first is on the theme “containers” and the second on “shape”.

Whatdya’ think?

St Patty’s Day Surprise!

Hello, my good loomy friends!  :D   I hope you’re enjoying a wonderfully terrific St Patty’s Day…filled with lots of green and visions of the land o’ fairies.

I’ve been bogged down with the wrapping up of the Winter Quarter of college, and trying to get things all completed, studied for, turned in, and aced…hence the long span of no updates.  :P

But, since you’ve been so patient, and it’s a fun holiday today, I thought I’d share with you one of my projects for my Health and Fitness class.  apricot-porkjust-look-at-that-beautyIt contains a very healthy meal with scrumdidliumptious recipes!  How’s this for starters…Apricot Stuffed Pork Loin…Sauteed Green Bean and Black Bean side dish…Cherry/Strawberry Crisp…  Mmmmmm. I’ve got your mouths watering haven’t I, lol?

Well…feel free to download in PDF format all the luscious details:)

Have a happy St Patrick’s Day…keep thinking GREEN!

Back to School~

Well, here we go again…

The three of us girlies here at the Dailey house are off to school for the Winter Quarter.  Here’s all the info about our school line-up, if you need a refresher, lol.  ;)

This quarter will see me taking on one more class.  I’ll be taking English 101 and a Health and Safety class, which will take care of all of the credits required in that catagory for my Business AA all in one swoop.

I hope that this quarter will be as good as last quarter.  I had a ton of homework, but it was fairly enjoyable for the most part, and I really loved the interaction and group discussions we had as a class.  I think college life suits me…*excuse me while I find some wood to knock on!*

All three of us are kind of jittery today…not really knowing what to expect when we get back into the daily grind of school life.  What will this quarter bring?  I’ll let you know how it goes…  :)   I hope your week is just plain fabulous!

100-paperOn another note… about another class…

My Felted Rosette Handbag...you can find this in the Freebies.

Remember that little tutorial video on how to employ the Decrease Bind Off method?

Well, I’ve just placed a new one for you to enjoy on the Twisted Stitches page, detailing how to create a simple rosette using this same technique!  Feel free to to go investigate.

This new video goes along with our new Loom Along at the Loom Knitter’s Clique… we’re working together to create this super cute Felted Rosette Handbag that you can find on the Freebies page.  You’re free to join us, if you’d like!  It’s time to start getting busy on that Christmas Looming List, am I right???  ;)

Yesterday…

I had a good time yesterday, multi tasking in my little comfy space in my corner of the living room.  I set up my lappy on it’s  little stand, so that I could answer or comment at a split second’s notice during our Mitten Loom Along at the Clique…I got out my brand new wool winder (won an auction on ebay!) and began winding my Vesper Knit and Tonic 400 yrd skein into a workable ball (which would be much easier if I had a yarn swift, I know, lol.  But I’ll make due with what I have for now…)…and I was working on a top secret project (in the umbrella bag), as well as making a new version of the mittens, AND doing laundry, cooking dinner in a slow cooker…etc…!  Wow!  I love it when I’m so productive, lol!  :D

Here’s my mitten variation with a smiley face embroidered on the back with Glow in the Dark Yarn…Fun!  ;)   I’m not very good at embroidering, so the smiley is kinda funky…but looks great from a bit of distance!

It’s Glowing!

It’s not charged up very much, but you get the idea.

Enjoy your day!

Pumpkins and Mittens~

You really know that Fall is knocking at the door when you find that the majority of searches leading into your blog have the words:  Pumpkins & Mittens in them.  I’ve been noticing a growing trend along those lines.  I guess we can’t deny it anymore…Fall is at the doorstep, just waiting to come in.  :)

I really do love Fall…I think it’s one of my absolute favorite seasons of the year!  I love the crisp morning air, and the brilliant colors in the trees, and the smell of wood smoke in the evenings.

And I LOVE pumpkins!  :)   I just can’t help it…always have.  And since others of you seem to be in the same frame of mind, I’d like to share with you a pattern that I worked up last year about this time… Wooly Felted Pumpkins!  In honor of the impending Fall season, I’d like to offer this pattern to you for a limited time discount…they’ll be available for only $2.95 until…well, until I decide the time is right to return them to the regular price, lol!  Hope you enjoy!

Need a way to keep those hands toasty warm???  We’re having a Mitten loom along at the Loom Knitter’s Chat Clique beginning tomorrow!  Just pop on over to the Freebies page to get your copy, which includes sizes for adults and children, and join us here.  You’re more than welcome to be a part!  :)

Have a great Monday!

Bethany~
